It really feels like coming home to them.
Jeanette - parent, Muscat
When we moved to Oman, our two children were able to start at LanguageOne immediately after our arrival. These sessions provide them with a pleasant, regular opportunity to speak Dutch in a ‘normal’ way again. It truly feels like coming home for them.
Clear with good feedback.
Tijmen – Exam student, Dubai
I am following the IB (Dutch A) exam program at LanguageOne in Dubai. The lessons are clear, I know exactly what I need to work on, and I receive good feedback on my assignments. I enjoy having classmates to discuss things with, and the teacher always helps us very well. I’m happy that I can now take Dutch as part of my exam subjects.

Frequently asked questions

Children growing up in an international environment often learn multiple languages simultaneously. This presents a great opportunity, but it can also be challenging to master one language. At LanguageOne, we help children develop their Dutch skills while continuing to practice their other languages. This way, we support healthy multilingual growth. Children can attend LanguageOne Dubai from the age of 3 up to 18. Young learners are required to be potty-trained and accustomed to a school environment.

Integrated lessons are held at Gems World Academy – Al Barsha and Dubai International Academy – Emirates Hills.

After-school lessons are held at:

  • Ranches Primary School – Arabian Ranches 2
  • Fairgreen – Sustainable city
    Collegiate
  • International School – Umm Suqeim 2

The LanguageOne curriculum is thematic and consists of units that focus on meaningful language and cultural tasks, relevant to the world of children and young people. Various skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening are addressed within each (cultural) theme.

The curriculum for primary school students focuses on the language domains of reading, writing, oral communication, and language conventions. In secondary education, language skills are mainly used to further develop proficiency in Dutch, for example through literature, with a view to preparing students for examination programs.

Learn more about our curriculum in the LanguageOne Dubai School Guide or visit our Facebook page.

At LanguageOne, our students typically follow two to three hours per week of Dutch Language and Culture education in addition to their regular school (local or international). The lessons are either integrated into the regular school curriculum or offered as an after-school program.

This is usually possible, depending on availability and level. Please contact the site manager to discuss the options.

The tuition fee for (part of) a year is stated in our General terms and conditions for our Dubai location.

It is possible for your child to take a trial lesson. You can easily request this, and the school’s site manager will then contact you to arrange an appointment. We are happy to explore the possibilities to provide the best suitable solution.

No, we do not offer private lessons, but we are happy to help find the best solution for your child. We provide tailored education in small classes.

In addition to language lessons, we also devote significant attention to Dutch and Flemish culture at our locations. We do this through recognizable activities and celebrations, such as King’s Day, Children’s Book Week, and Sinterklaas. This way, children experience the language not only in the classroom but also in a meaningful and festive context. This way, they stay connected to the culture, traditions, and stories of their home country.

LanguageOne’s educational programs ensure a smooth transition upon returning to the Netherlands or Belgium. For advice on continuing Dutch Language and Culture education in another country, online education, or choosing a school upon returning to the Netherlands or Belgium, please contact the location manager or teacher. You can also always utilize LanguageOne’s network in the Netherlands.

This depends on the local offerings of the LanguageOne location. Please contact the location manager for more information. There is, however, an online program available for adults.

Dutch education in Dubai

Thanks to this distribution, there is usually a lesson location close to home or work. In Dubai, around 200 primary and secondary school students attend our lessons. For students who have limited Dutch skills, there are also additional entry groups: Mini (ages 5–9) and Maxi (9+).

Learning with us goes beyond just practicing language rules. We work in small groups so that each student receives plenty of attention, and we build confidence in speaking, reading, and writing. By collaborating and learning from each other, the lessons are not only effective but also genuinely fun!

LanguageOne stands for high-quality education that fits the international context in which children grow up, making any eventual return to the Netherlands or Flanders much easier.
