It really feels like coming home to them.Jeanette – parent, Muscat
When we moved to Oman, our two children were able to start at LanguageOne immediately after our arrival. These sessions provide them with a pleasant, regular opportunity to speak Dutch in a ‘normal’ way again. It truly feels like coming home for them.
Clear with good feedback.Tijmen – Exam student, Dubai
I am following the IB (Dutch A) exam program at LanguageOne in Dubai. The lessons are clear, I know exactly what I need to work on, and I receive good feedback on my assignments. I enjoy having classmates to discuss things with, and the teacher always helps us very well. I’m happy that I can now take Dutch as part of my exam subjects.

What does the curriculum look like?
The curriculum is thematic and based on the International Baccalaureate (IB). Students work in units on language and cultural tasks that relate to their own experiences. All language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—are addressed, with an emphasis on active communication and interaction. Each unit concludes with an assessment. In addition, we administer at least one standardized test per year, independent of the method, such as Diatoetsen and AVI.
What does the class schedule look like?
Students follow an average of three hours per week of Dutch language and cultural education in addition to their regular school curriculum. The lessons are either integrated into the school’s curriculum or offered after school.
When can my child start at LanguageOne?
Your child can start at LanguageOne at any time. An exception to this is the examination year. You can make an appointment with the location manager for an introductory meeting. During this conversation, we will first determine which group your child will be placed in. In consultation with the site manager and/or your child’s teacher, the start date of the lessons will then be determined. Depending on the time of enrollment, adjusted tuition fees may apply. In addition to language lessons, we also devote significant attention to Dutch and Flemish culture at our locations. We do this through recognizable activities and celebrations, such as King’s Day, Children’s Book Week, and Sinterklaas. This way, children experience the language not only in the classroom but also in a meaningful and festive context.Â
This connection between language and culture is further strengthened during our annual Culture Week, in which a new theme is explored each school year. Previous themes include Go Cycling, Brrr… Cold, Isn’t It?, The Netherlands and Water and Look Beyond. In this way, children remain connected to the culture, traditions and stories of their country of origin.
Where can I go if I do not live near the lesson location(s)?
