They preceded you

It really feels like coming home to them.
Jeanette - parent, Muscat
When we moved to Oman, our two children were able to start at LanguageOne immediately after our arrival. These sessions provide them with a pleasant, regular opportunity to speak Dutch in a ‘normal’ way again. It truly feels like coming home for them.
Clear with good feedback.
Tijmen – Exam student, Dubai
I am following the IB (Dutch A) exam program at LanguageOne in Dubai. The lessons are clear, I know exactly what I need to work on, and I receive good feedback on my assignments. I enjoy having classmates to discuss things with, and the teacher always helps us very well. I’m happy that I can now take Dutch as part of my exam subjects.

Frequently asked questions

Children growing up in an international environment often learn multiple languages simultaneously. This presents a great opportunity, but it can also be challenging to master one language. At LanguageOne, we help children develop their Dutch skills while continuing to practice their other languages. This way, we support healthy multilingual growth. Children can attend LanguageOne Muscat from the age of 3 up to 18. For younger students, they must be toilet-trained and accustomed to a school environment.

Lessons take place at The British School Muscat (BSM) as well as at a dedicated location near the PDO school.

The program is structured thematically and focuses on the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. In the lower grades, the emphasis is on learning through play and language development, with recognizable themes and a strong focus on reading enjoyment. In the upper grades, students prepare for a return to Dutch-language education or for obtaining a recognized Dutch diploma within the international curriculum (such as the IB MYP or DP with Dutch A/B). Students aged 15/16 can also take the CNaVT exam. Dutch A is offered remotely via LanguageOne Online.

LanguageOne Muscat provides after-school lessons at our own teaching location near the PDO School and at the British School Muscat (BSM). The lessons are grouped by age and level. The exact lesson times are coordinated with the schedule of the international day schools.

Enrollment is possible throughout the school year, as long as there is space in the group.

The tuition fee for (part of) a year is stated in our General terms and conditions for our Muscat location.

It’s possible to schedule a trial lesson for your child. You can easily request one yourself. The location manager will then contact you to schedule an appointment.

No, we don’t offer private lessons, but we’re happy to help you find the best solution for your child. We offer personalized instruction in small classes. Private lessons are available through LanguageOne Online.

In addition to language lessons, we also devote significant attention to Dutch and Flemish culture at our locations. We do this through recognizable activities and celebrations, such as King’s Day, Children’s Book Week, and Sinterklaas. This way, children experience the language not only in the classroom but also in a meaningful and festive context. This way, they stay connected to the culture, traditions, and stories of their home country.

LanguageOne’s educational programs ensure a smooth transition upon returning to the Netherlands or Belgium. For advice on continuing Dutch Language and Culture education in another country, online education, or choosing a school upon returning to the Netherlands or Belgium, please contact the location manager or teacher. You can also always utilize LanguageOne’s network in the Netherlands.

This depends on the local offerings of the LanguageOne location. Please contact the location manager for more information. There is, however, an online program available for adults.
