Children growing up in an international environment often learn multiple languages ​​simultaneously. This presents a great opportunity, but it can also be challenging to master one language. At LanguageOne, we help children develop their Dutch skills while continuing to practice their other languages. This way, we support healthy multilingual growth. LanguageOne offers Dutch language and cultural education in Ibiza for students aged 4 to 18.

For the after-school Dutch lessons, LanguageOne collaborates with Morna International School, where classrooms and facilities are used, among other resources.

The LanguageOne curriculum is thematic and consists of units that focus on meaningful language and cultural tasks, relevant to the world of children and young people. Various skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening are addressed within each (cultural) theme. Our curriculum is based on both the IB (International Baccalaureate) and the Dutch national curriculum. We use, among other things, Nieuwsbegrip and Taal actief in our lessons.

The curriculum for primary school students focuses on the language domains of reading, writing, oral communication, and language conventions. In secondary education, language skills are mainly used to further develop proficiency in Dutch, for example through literature, with a view to preparing students for examination programs.

At LanguageOne, our students take an average of three hours per week of Dutch language and cultural education in addition to their regular school curriculum (local or international school). The lessons at LanguageOne Ibiza, held at Morna International College, are partly integrated into the school’s curriculum and partly offered after school.

This is usually possible, depending on availability and level. Please contact the site manager to discuss the options.

LanguageOne offers the CNaVT exam ‘Educatief Startbekwaam’. It is also possible to take the Dutch A final exam. Both exams provide access to higher education and university studies in the Netherlands. Both examination programs are available online via LanguageOne Online.

Tuition fees are handled through our partner school, Morna International College.

It is possible for your child to take a trial lesson. You can easily request this, and the school’s site manager will then contact you to arrange an appointment.

Extra private lessons are available through LanguageOne Online.

In addition to language lessons, we also devote significant attention to Dutch and Flemish culture at our locations. We do this through recognizable activities and celebrations, such as King’s Day, Children’s Book Week, and Sinterklaas. This way, children experience the language not only in the classroom but also in a meaningful and festive context. This way, they stay connected to the culture, traditions, and stories of their home country.
